ARACHON T.FX.T is Austria’s premier joint venture. Three acclaimed Austrian Winemaking Friends from three different wine producing regions in Austria came together:

  • Tibor SZEMES, a successful Négociant-Éleveur from Burgenland
  • F.X. PICHLER, Grüner Veltliner and Riesling Legend from the Wachau
  • Manfred TEMENT, a leading Sauvignon Blanc winemaker from the South of Styria

Their VISION was to produce a Premium Red Wine in internationally competitive quantities using native and international grape varieties, coupled with their extensive Know How in the Vineyard Management and Winemaking experience. Their research led them to the Vereinte Winzer Blaufränkisch land cooperative in the small town of Horitschon in Burgenland, close to the Austrian-Hungarian border, and to winemaker Wolf Gregor. The chosen name for the wine was ARACHON T.FX.T (pronounced Arra-Khon) –which was the old name of the town Horitschon around 1540.

The T.FX.T stands for the three Partners, or “Directors” Tibor Szemes, F.X. Pichler and Manfred Tement. ARACHON T.FX.T is a blend of the indigenous Blaufränkisch, with Merlot, Zweigelt and Cabernet Sauvignon, and is celebrating its 10th Vintage with ARACHON T.FX.T 2005.
